Tim fought through three rounds of the World’s best Brown Belt competition on October 8 to win his first Masters 2 IBJJF No Gi World Championship. Tim has had a active year competing in major tournaments across the United States in both Gi and No Gi formats. Some of Tims accomplishments thus far has been placing in American Nationals, Pan Ams and of course his most recent and biggest achievement coming at the No Gi Worlds. The thing is you can get that at a lot of places in the area( albeit maybe not quite the level of tenacity that Professor Allen not only expects but also demonstrates) The thing that Checkmat Charlotte has is the community! I have only been here a short time but have met soo many encouraging teammates! And teammates that come alongside and teach inspire and challenge you to treat yourself well in this art and in life.
