Student of the Month of August - Konan Perez

  Congratulations to Konan Perez for being named Student of The Month for August. Konan came to us in January of 2020 with no prior combat sports eXperience.  He received his Blue belt on May 2, 2021 and has been training consistently since day one. Often times Konan trains twice a day, thus resulting in an astounding 50 pounds of weight loss!! 🤩 He has competed at successfully at Newbreed, while taking first place at Tap Cancer Out Charlotte and the Ibjjf Charlotte Open. Konan is a graduate of Virginia Tech University, majoring in mechanical engineering. He is a quality engineer at Britax Child Safety.
 
   For Konan’s exemplary efforts he was awarded a brand new custom Checkmat Rashguard! We are positive that he will wear this proudly under his fancy new Origin Kimono😂. Konan has become a integral part of our Checkmat Charlotte family and we look forward to seeing his growth over the coming years!
